The other day, I was asked to tidy up some of my paraphernalia, most of which at least tangentially are related to my Building Biology consultancy. I have dozens of stacking plastic crates filled with my meters, shielding materials, electronica, future projects, to-be-fixed electronics and so on. They can always do with some tidying and consolidation, so I acquiesced to my partner’s request.
If One Is Environmentally Sensitive, Proactively Monitor
A few minutes into the morning’s cleaning, I heard both a bleating alarm and a human wail coming from Sonia’s sanctuary. So rare are such events that I was on the spot in a nonce. Her Safe and Sound Pro II, which is kept running from a USB power bank during waking hours, was making a telltale staccato sound, somewhat faint yet discernible nonetheless. The measured signal strength maximum weighed in at less than 5 microwatts per meter-squared (a measure of the RF power density), well within the ‘slightly anomalous’ region according Building Biology standards. Even so, Sonia was clearly agitated and acquired an immediate headache by this sudden particular signal, irrespective of its strength.

As a household with an electrically over-reactive resident, we have learned that for wireless communications signals, the absolute strength of the signal is less relevant than its pulsing nature as far as body reactivity. Sonia is often physically distressed, acutely, when low-flying aircraft travel over our home, despite the high RF protection offered by her sanctuary. When outdoors, thus less protected from RF, she can (un)easily feel the emanations of high flying aircraft, even as this same RF meter also shows a low numeric Max value and a discernible audio clicking as those emanations are demodulated.
A Small Wireless Mouse With A Strong Punch
That day’s RF troublemaker turned out to be a ‘new’ wireless computer mouse, one that came into my possession a few months or years ago from some forgotten source and was still in its original packaging. It was in the crate of goods I had been sorting, about 40 feet away from Sonia! Such mice activate when they are jiggled, which explained why my tidying woke the beast. They silence themselves after a minute of no further jostling. The mystery was that this was an unopened package, still with its battery pull-tab in place, so one would presume it was inactive. Not so!

I quickly carried the offending mouse out of the house and away from the EMF sanctuary, basically throwing it out the door onto the patio. I was not yet dressed nearly warm enough for the necessary outdoor ‘defusing’ of this little RF bomb. And meanwhile, Sonia needed immediate attention to bring down the induced anxiety that sudden wireless device engendered.
Lest anyone be concerned: the mouse in its packaging would not be damaged by my unceremonious toss. Also, for those harrumphing to themselves that chucking a broadcasting device outside will do little to diminish its potency, it should be noted that when I put an RF spewer outside the house, its RF signal is blocked from re-entrance by the 4 reflective rigid board foam foil layers and RF-reflective low-E windows which are features of our house, measured to have 10 - 30 dB (10X - 1000X) reduction.
EMF Overexposure First Aid
As a necessary first aid to calm down her now overdriven biology, Sonia held her trusty triad of calming crystals — Black Onyx, Green Kyanite and Black Obsidian1. After a few minutes, she had to replace the first set with a second triad of the same kinds of stones, since the first set had become fouled while doing their duty. After about 5 minutes total, she had returned back to her normal self and, thank goodness!, the day had not been ruined. In the past, when Sonia was more ill from Electromagnetic Radiation Syndrome a few years ago, a single RF oops like that might take 24 hours to recover from. We have come a long way since then.

No Device is Harmless to 100.00% of the Population
So many people are over-exposed to wireless communication signals and, even if a person is not as acutely reactive as Sonia, exposure to such does come at some biological cost to each of us. We are all electromagnetic beings and these man-made EMFs have been shown2 to have true biological impact, often injurious.
The public has been bamboozled by slick marketing, junk science, and authorities who are asleep on their watch. There is no reason to believe that unnatural EMFs are completely benign and instead of decrying how mine could not possibly be a correct assessment, then do your homework honestly and so seek out what the long term safety testing science says about this specific mouse (no long-term testing exists), this class of products (no long-term testing exists), or any of the consumer facing radiating products (no long-term testing exists).
I rest my case.
Learn More About Your Devices From FCC Filings (USA)
We can learn more about the wireless devices in our lives by first seeking the required ’FCC ID’ printed or embossed onto it. The FCC ID for this mouse is “JNZMR0084”. ‘JNZ’ is the FCC identifier of the company and the MR0084 is the model number of this product.
By performing a web search for that FCC ID, additional information about the radiated energies can be found, though I warn you that grokking such info is not for the faint of heart.
Lessons Learned
It’s wise to be careful with triggering environmental incitants, toxicants or irrtitants. A safe policy is to ‘Trust, But Verify’ by having some kind of sentinel that can monitor and alert if trouble is detected. By catching this particular problem within a few minutes we avoided an escalation that might have derailed our long term healing work (overcoming biological over-reactivity to EMFs).
Apache tear, a black obsidian, is also known as Merekanite
There are thousands of scientific papers gathered by The Bioinitiative Project, most showing injury at levels equal to or less than found in our typical household and personal devices.
Wow, A few weeks ago I bought an old style mouse when I saw the signal coming from my wireless mouse. No bueno. The old mouse requires a dongle adapter, but works fine. I do cad drafting, so I can spend extreme hours at the keyboard. However, I am giving up the fight against PGE re my smartmeter installed 2019. Heart palps and tinnitus, worst ever both categories. Even passed out a few times. Many certified letters send, to no avail. My next charge would have been to protest on ADA grounds, since I cannot healthily be in my office in my house now. But instead, looking at a yurt on a small plot. Flexible as to state, such a site with water will be a challenge to find on my budget. Thank you.
